About the special issue
The field of infectious diseases has never been more important, clearly highlighted by current research efforts against the COVID-19 pandemic, but also by continuing advances in areas such as HIV, tuberculosis, and malaria. This special issue aims to bring together female experts in the field to produce a comprehensive issue of the journal to emphasize women’s contributions to the field of infectious diseases. The issue will include high-quality articles in all areas of infectious diseases, including original research led by female scientist(s) and up-to-date reviews highlighting the leading role of women in the advancement of the field.
