The Translator

Celebrating 25 years

For the past 25 years, The Translator has supported both researchers and practitioners, providing a meeting point for existing and developing approaches in the Translation field. The journal aims to stimulate interaction between various groups who share a common interest in translation as a profession and translation studies as a discipline. In honor of all the important research we have brought to you since 1995, Routledge and The Translator are pleased to offer access to some of your favorite papers on Translation and Intercultural Communications. Thank you for being a part of our community for the past 25 years-- and may the future voices of the journal hold even greater insights!

The Translator is pleased to celebrate 25 years of publication! Publishing articles on a variety of issues related to translation and interpreting as acts of intercultural communication, the journal is pleased to bring a quarter century worth of high quality, innovative research.

The Translator supports both researchers and practitioners, providing a meeting point for existing as well as developing approaches. It aims to stimulate interaction between various groups who share a common interest in translation as a profession and translation studies as a discipline. Contributions cover a broad range of practices, written or oral, including interpreting in all its modes, literary translation and adaptation, commercial and technical translation, translation for the stage and in digital media, and multimodal forms such as dubbing and subtitling.
