Become a Peer Review College Member

Call for Peer Review College Members

In September 2018, The Law Teacher launched our Peer Review College.  This comprises of the Editorial Board and other invited colleagues who undertake reviews for the journal.

The Peer Review College is designed to partly answer the challenge raised by the 2015 overview report on REF2014 that ‘the methodological rigour and significance exhibited by some of these [legal education] outputs was uneven.’  By strengthening the peer review process, encouraging greater rigour and consistency in the standards applied, and enhancing a dialogue between authors and reviewers, it is our hope that this will contribute towards enhancing legal education research.

Joining the Peer Review College

Applications to join the Peer Review College are welcome throughout the year.  You should send the following details to the General Editor, Professor Chris Ashford.

  • A 300-word statement explaining why you want to join the College and the expertise that you will bring.
  • A Curriculum Vitae/ Résumé

Successful applicants will then be invited to attend a reviewing workshop at the Annual Conference of the Association of Law Teachers.  Completion of the workshop will then enable membership of the College.
