Sustainable Communities is an online, open access, international journal publishing across all areas of sustainable research and is part of our Elevate Series
Sustainable Communities is a scholarly open access, internationally peer-reviewed and cross-disciplinary journal, that provides a platform for academics working in different disciplines, to collaborate and offer a joint focus for their research in advancing sustainable practices.
The journal will be made up of broad sections covering various dimensions of how sustainability drives responses to environmental change.
The journal welcomes original research articles, review articles, method articles, registered reports, data notes and editorials. Letters to the Editor are also considered and should discuss an analysis of an article previously published in Sustainable Communities.

Meet the Section Editors of Sustainable Communities
He has authored over 90 papers in renowned journals such as the Journal of the American Statistical Association, Transportation Research Part A, Energy Economics, International Review of Financial Analysis, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, Journal of Environmental Management, Renewable & Sustainable Energy Review, Applied Energy, and Energy, among others.
He has been Chair of the Department of Economics, Director of Graduate Studies of their Economics Program, as well as Director of the Undergraduate program.
His research includes contributions to the analyses of disability and programs in the United States, dynamic life-cycle models of annuity and portfolio decisions with an emphasis on modeling the effects of uncertainty in wage income and capital investments, the study of retirement expectations, and the labor supply effects of the early retirement rules.
His work has been cited in the New York Times, The Economist, and the U.S. News and World Report, and published in numerous international journals in economics and public policy.

Prior to joining Faculty of Environmental Sciences at Czech University of Life Science, Peter was on faculty in the Department of Landscape Architecture and Regional Planning at the University of Massachusetts, USA.
Peter has focused his professional career on developing broad-based land protection and sustainable land using planning approaches and promoting techniques that foster effective resource conservation. Recent research has focused on mitigating the user impacts associated with Eco Tourism on sensitive resources in developing countries.
Currently, he is the Director of the Laboratory of Urban and Territorial Systems at the University of Basilicata. He is also responsible for overseeing both undergraduate and postgraduate curriculums in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the same university.
Beniamino Murgante is actively involved in the academic community, holding positions such as a Member of the Editorial Board for numerous international journals, participating in scientific committees for many international conferences, and contributing to the scientific councils of various national and international organizations. He also holds the esteemed position of Program Committee Co-Chair for the International Conference on Computational Science and Its Applications (ICCSA).
