The topology of chaos - in memory of Robert L. Devaney

This special volume, in memory of Robert L. Devaney, brings together a broad range of themes within dynamical systems. It places particular emphasis on

  1. Discrete dynamical systems, especially in the context of holomorphic dynamics, both rational and transcendental.
  2. Contributions in celestial mechanics.
  3. Across these areas, the volume explores fundamental questions concerning the topological properties of invariant sets, the presence of chaos, and the structure of parameter spaces.

Information for Authors: Special Volume Submission Guidelines

This document provides essential information for authors intending to submit manuscripts to the special volume “The Topology of Chaos – in Memory of Robert L. Devaney.”

Manuscript Length and Formatting

There is no strict limit on the length of submitted papers. However, contributions are expected to fall within a typical range of 10 to 40 pages. All manuscripts must be prepared using LaTeX, following standard academic formatting conventions appropriate for mathematical publications.

Types of Contributions

The special volume will include two main types of submissions (All submissions will undergo a peer-review process in accordance with the journal’s standards of excellence):

  • Survey articles addressing the principal research areas associated with Robert L. Devaney’s work, including (but not limited to) discrete dynamical systems, holomorphic dynamics, and celestial mechanics.

  • Original research papers presenting new and significant contributions related to these or closely connected topics.

Submission Instructions

Authors are requested to submit their manuscripts via the ScholarOne submission system. During the submission process, please ensure that you select the special issue titled:

“The Topology of Chaos – in Memory of Robert L. Devaney.”

Publication Timeline

The publication of the special volume is expected to take place in the second semester of 2027.
