The Life and Work of Annie Sprinkle
We invite proposals for papers that explore, critique, and celebrate the life and work of Annie Sprinkle—porn performer, artist, activist, and educator. Across five decades, Sprinkle has challenged mainstream and feminist discourses on sexuality, pioneered sex-positive feminism, and transformed public perceptions of pornography, sex work, and erotic performance. From her early career in adult film to her radical ecosexual art activism, her work continues to inspire and provoke.
We welcome papers that focus on these or any other themes in relation to Sprinkle’s work and activism:
Pornography, Performance, and Art

- Porn, multimedia, and performance art
- Visual culture, media circulation, and archives
- Feminist debates on porn and sexuality
