Recently, a group of contributing authors were commissioned by the International Journal of Sport and Exercise Psychology’s Editor-in-Chief to consider a preliminary, comprehensive approach to the science and practice dialectic of core literacies when working with high-performance athletes: https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/1612197X.2026.2625906
Aim and Scope
The aim of current Special Issue is to encourage authors from the international sport psychology community to consider the interrelationships of two or more core literacies in the support of thriving high-performance athletes within sport and life.
As the guest editors of this Special Issue, we express a vast interest in variety of submission styles and subject areas. The formats include, but are not limited to, opinion papers, various types of reviews, conceptual papers, Delphi studies, empirical contributions, regional position stands, and commentaries. The potential subject areas could include, but need not be limited to, career and talent development, mental health, contextual expertise, technology, mental skills, cultural safety, and interpersonal strategies.

Submission Instructions
In advance of submitting complete manuscripts, the guest editors encourage the submission of up to 200 words abstracts for consideration. The proposed abstracts can be sent to [email protected] and copied to [email protected] .
