Prediction of COVID-19 using data science
COVID-19 is declared a global pandemic by the World Health Organization. No country remains unaffected from this crisis. More than a million people are affected by this pandemic around the globe. This noble coronavirus is not only a threat to life but also diminishing the economy of the world. Different medical institutes, virology and pharmacology research centres are striving to come up with vaccines, antidotes, and antibiotics to eliminate the virus and to mitigate effects on the patients. However, technology can also play a vital role to combat this issue. The objective of the special issue (SI) is to highlight original research that addresses the challenges in terms of prediction of pandemic progression, event detection and modelling approaches, risk analysis, data accuracy and underreporting consequences, spatial-temporal epidemic patterns, peak and period forecasts, spread mitigation covariate research, evidence-supported separation and lockdown methods, and all other problems relevant to COVID-19 that have been discussed using the data science method.
