Functional Diamond

We are pleased to announce a Special Issue in Functional Diamond, featuring selected papers from the International Symposium on Single Crystal Diamond and Electronics 2024 (SCDE 2024). This symposium is scheduled to be held in Xi’an, China, from June 13 to 16, 2024.

The overarching objective of this Special Issue is to present discerning insights, spanning from fundamental physical and chemical concepts to applied research in diamond material science. We cordially invite contributors to submit their work for potential publication in this esteemed issue.

Functional Diamond is honoured to host this special edition, committed to disseminating high-quality, impactful papers that encapsulate the latest technological breakthroughs in diamond-based materials, structures, and composites. We eagerly welcome submissions spanning the fields of physics, chemistry, materials science, biology, and engineering.

Topics covered in this Special Issue include, but are not limited to:

• Synthesis of single crystal diamond (SCD)
• SCD electronic devices
• Diamond Surface and interface
• Diamond Hetero-structure and their application
• Diamond sensors, detectors, MEMS/NEMS etc.
• Related wide bandgap semiconductors and their applications
• Other carbon materials and their applications

In addition to encouraging submissions from conference participants, we also invite papers from researchers whose work aligns with the scope of this Special Issue, regardless of their participation in SCDE 2024.

Authors of the selected papers presented at the conference are invited to submit extended versions of their original contributions to this Special Issue. This initiative seeks to deepen the scholarly dialogue and disseminate the substantive contributions presented during SCDE 2024.

Our aspiration is to stimulate the inspiration and innovation among the global community of scientific researchers and technology professionals through both the conference and this Special Issue.
