Shadowscapes: landscapes of the mind, body and place in speculative fiction
We invite articles for a special issue of the DHET-accredited and SCOPUS-listed journal Scrutiny2: Issues in English Studies in Southern Africa on the theme of “Shadowscapes: landscapes of mind, body and place in speculative fiction”. Possible topics include, but are not limited to:
- Invented lands: their topography and political economies
- Ecologies of the fantastic
- Inhabitants of imaginary worlds
- The porous border between "the real" and "the speculative"
- Landscapes of the mind and the psyche
- The body as a landscape
- The shadow and doubling of the self-scape
- The navigator: journeying through fantastic landscapes
