Training and Playing Football in the COVID-19 Emergency
In a recent editorial entitled "Sharing information is probably more helpful than providing generic training recommendations on return to play after COVID-19 home confinement " (https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/24733938.2020.1775436), Science and Medicine in Football has underlined the importance of sharing information that can be used to better inform the community about the coalface experiences of teams and athletes during COVID-19. These articles are an opportunity to share experiences supported with data with the scientific community and practitioners.
Science and Medicine in Football, with the support of the Football Science Institute, invites Authors to submit papers addressing these main themes:
consequences (e.g. medical, physiological, physical, psychological) and strategies adopted to allow players to return to train and play after the COVID-19 lockdowns and restrictions;
strategies and responses to train and play within the constraints imposed by the COVID-19 medical emergency.
These studies will be given high priority in the review process.
