New developments for the resilient fire design of singular buildings and engineering infrastructure
The catastrophic consequences of fire events in singular buildings (e.g. Nôtre Dame cathedral) and engineering infrastructure (e.g. tunnels, bridges, power plants) have significantly changed the public perception of fire risk. During a fire, materials and structures are pushed to the limit and ensuring an adequate fire response can be very challenging.
We invite authors to submit original research, review articles and visionary papers that investigate the various aspects of fire design of singular buildings (e.g. heritage buildings, buildings with unusual dimensions, construction materials or structural systems) and engineering infrastructure. Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:
- Developments in materials aimed to improve fire response.
- Fire modelling.
- Fire following earthquake.
- Structural response under fire.
- Simplified fire design methods.
- Resilient Design.
- Case studies showing innovative approaches to structural fire design.
