Reimagining Tomorrow with Simulation
Overview of Special Issue:
This Special Issue aims at introducing selected and extended papers from the Winter Simulation Conference 2022 (WSC 2022). The theme of the special issue is derived from the title of the WSC 2022 conference - “Reimagine Tomorrow”. Authors presenting at other relevant conferences such as the Korean Industrial and Systems Engineering Spring Conference (KSIE 2022 Spring Conference) and the International Conference on Modeling & Analysis of Semiconductor Manufacturing (MASM) will also be invited to submit extended versions of their work for inclusion to the special issue. The editing team encourages authors to extend their conference papers with scientific backgrounds and research outputs validated by experiments so that submissions can meet the publication guideline of Journal of Simulation (JOS). Contributions from academics and practitioners will be sought showcasing applied case studies and theoretical and methodological developments, with a specific focus on the use of simulation in combination with related technologies such as Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Bio-Technology, Internet of Things, Digital Twins, Quantum Computing, and Virtual Reality.
Subjects covered:
The Special Issue involves academic research papers on developments in simulation methodology and analysis and applied case studies. Suggested topics include but are not limited to: Simulation Analytics, Simulation and Digital Twins, Simulation & AI, Hybrid Simulation, Environment and Sustainability Applications, Healthcare Applications, Manufacturing Applications, and Simulation Education.

You should be able to select the special issue title from a drop-down menu, which will help the Editorial Office and the Editors to correctly allocate your paper for peer review.
In the cover letter:
-
- Authors must state which conference the paper is originating from (e.g. WSC, KSIE 2022 Spring Conference or MASM);
- A description of how the JoS SI paper differs from the conference version of the paper (the journal paper must also include the conference paper in the reference list, and should similarly describe the changes in the SI paper);
- If the conference paper is available online (or has been uploaded to a preprint server or archived in an institutional repository), then a link is to be included in the cover letter.
