Planet Care from Space

The theme of the 10th AIT 2021 Conference was “Planet Health” with specific focus on Geohazards and Climate Change, recognizing the important role of Remote Sensing technologies and environmental data in the science and in our society.

New showcases and applications were shown during the Conference, and they are expected in this Special Issue, with a particular emphasis on the discussions of the results and future remarks. The role of the knowledge of environmental dynamics and their interactions with human activities is the general topic of this SI.

Specific topics cover the applications of remote sensing techniques into the analysis of volcanic, coastal and hydrogeological hazard. Moreover, the manuscripts on the influence of global warming and climate change of forestry status and agricultures activities will be accepted with their important role in the global ecosystem.

The Special Issue is based on the 10th AIT 2021 International Conference. 16-17 September 2021. The AIT Workshops on Remote Sensing have a long and successful history. The first one was held in 1990, and from 2016 they subsequently took place every 2 years. The conference, due to COVID pandemic issue, has been postponed from 2020 to 2021 and organised in virtual format. The Conference involved more than 300 attendees, which participated in  93 presentations distributed over twelve parallel sessions and five special panels.
