Philosophy through Art, Games, and Fiction
To honour the legacy of Helen De Cruz, beloved editorial board member who was a brilliant philosopher, but also an educator, a musician, a fiction writer, and an illustrator, Philosophical Psychology invites contributions on the way in which philosophical concepts and ideas can be conveyed through art, games, and fiction.
Questions may include the following:
- What is the role of fables in developing philosophical arguments or ideas?
- What is the epistemic value of fiction? Can a story on its own convey an an argument?
- Can we do philosophy using interactive games or videogames?
- Do TV series (such asĀ Severance or Silo) merely illustrate philosophical problems or can they be used to address them and solve them as well?
- How do art and literature contribute to moral agency?
- Is philosophy itself a form of art?
- How can thought experiments be used to assess a philosophical theory?
