Phase separation in nuclear biology

Liquid-liquid phase separation has emerged as a fundamental principle in organizing cellular space and biochemistry. This new Special Issue will review and discuss recent progress in studying phase separation in nuclear biology. Through articles concerning

  • Phase separation in chromatin organization at various levels
  • Regulation of gene expression by phase separation
  • Nuclear bodies and condensates
  • Phase separation in other nuclear processes

This will provide novel insights into how the maintenance and expression of genetic information are spatiotemporally regulated by phase separation, and prompt new interest in studying how this mechanism regulates nuclear processes in health and disease.
