New Voices in Settler Colonial Studies
Since the inception of settler colonial studies in the 1990s the field has grown exponentially to include diverse sources, methodologies, questions and perspectives. Merging critique and analysis of colonialism stemming from Indigenous studies with those of colonial history, informed by critical theory, postcolonial, decolonial and other theoretical perspectives and being investigated by multi- and interdisciplinary approaches, the field of settler colonial studies is diverse, rich and mature enough to have a capacity to look critically on itself.
This special issue aims to bring together representatives of a new generation of settler colonialism researchers from across different disciplines to use their cutting-edge work to showcase the new voices in the field. We invite early career researchers – doctoral students, postdoctoral scholars and untenured faculty with a few years of academic research experience following the completion of their PhD – to submit papers on any aspect of settler colonialism across all periods, places and disciplines.
