Journal of Nonparametric Statistics

Journal of Nonparametric Statistics will launch a special issue on the occasion of the 6th International Symposium on Nonparametric Statistics (ISNPS2024) held in Braga, Portugal, on June 25-29, 2024. This special issue aims to publish on a fast track high quality papers on cutting-edge methods in nonparametric and semiparametric statistics presented at ISNPS2024.  Papers on any topic covered by the conference may be submitted to the special issue. Topics include, but are not limited to: 

• Bayesian nonparametrics
• Causal inference
• Extremes
• Goodness-of-fit tests
• Large-scale inference and high-dimensional data
• Multiple testing
• Nonparametric econometrics
• Time series and spatial statistics
• Smoothing methods
• Statistical learning, clustering and classification
• Survival Analysis and biostatistics 

Papers not presented at ISNPS2024 may be submitted too if the authors feel strongly that the contents fit the conference themes. 

The review process will follow the general reviewing principles of Journal of Nonparametric Statistics and be handled by the Special Issue guest editors, and members of ISNPS2024 Scientific Programme Committee, Malka Gorfine (Tel Aviv University, Israel), Jeffrey S. Racine (McMaster University, Canada) and Jacobo de Uña-Álvarez (Vigo University, Spain). 

Submissions will be possible within the time frame June 1 – September 30, 2024. The deadline of September 30, 2024, will be sharp.  We expect that all papers have been first reviewed by early 2025 and to have the Special Issue complete before the end of that year. 

All papers should be submitted via Journal of Nonparametric Statistics’ Submission Portal.

To submit to the special issue please login to JNPS’ Submission Portal. You’ll be prompted to confirm whether your submission is for a special issue. After choosing “yes,” a new dropdown list will appear. Be sure to select "ISNPS2024" from the list of special issues. Submitted manuscripts should comply with the instructions for authors of Journal of Nonparametric Statistics.
