Reinventing Information: Achieving Integration and Reuse in the Digital/Data Age

Data science has become the new frontier for self-driving cars and AI (Artificial Intelligence). Such intelligent applications derive from Information Reuse and Integration (IRI). IRI seeks to maximize the utility of information by creating simple, rich, and cost-effective knowledge representations and ontologies. IRI consequently explores strategies for integrating this knowledge into systems and applications. It plays a pivotal role in the capture, representation, maintenance, integration, validation, and extrapolation of information and the knowledge derived from it; and, it applies both information and knowledge for enhancing decision-making in various application domains.

This Special will include regular research papers as well as extended IEEE IRI’23 (IEEE 24th International Conference on Information Reuse and Integration for Data Science, August 4 - August 6, 2023. Bellevue, WA, USA - https://homepages.uc.edu/~niunn/IRI23/index.html ) papers.

Authors who will submit an extended conference paper are expected to extend and revise their paper by including new scientific results. At least 30% of the incorporated material must be new, which may include expanding the methodology and/or some more extensive test results on new datasets.

Additional related work is expected. Also, the original text should be reworded.

Topics include, but not limited to:

  • Information Reuse
    • Data Science & Technologies - Heuristic Acquisition
    • Data & Knowledge Representation and Management
    • Data Visualization
    • Information Science & Theory
    • Contemporary as well as Novel Data Mining Techniques
    • Graph Models
    • Recommender Systems
  • Information Integration
    • Machine Learning & AI
    • AI and Security
    • Heuristics, and Explanation-Based Learning vs. neural networks which are intractable
    • Information Science & Theory
    • Symbolic AI
    • Evolutionary Techniques
    • Predictive Data Analysis & Intelligence
    • Statistical Analysis
