Selected papers from INDRUM2022 Conference
INDRUM2022 (October 19- 22, 2022) was the fourth conference of the International Network for Didactic Research in University Mathematics. The themes addressed at INDRUM2022 covered teacher and student practices, and the teaching and learning of specific mathematical topics at undergraduate and post-graduate level as well as across disciplines.
The programme of the conference comprised a plenary talk by Andreas Eichler, University Kassel, Germany), on the professional and academic bases of university mathematics teaching; an expert panel discussion on Innovations in university teaching based on mathematics education research; and four thematic working groups in parallel hosting short communications and discussions.
In the light of the number and quality of submissions (58 accepted papers and 24 posters) and the fertility of scientific exchanges during the sessions, we are delighted to announce this call for papers for the International Journal of Mathematical Education in Science and Technology (IJMEST) Special Issue, guest- edited by INDRUM2022 Chair, co-Chair, and Local Chair María Trigueros, Berta Barquero and Reinhard Hochmuth, with the support of the IJMEST Associate Editor Greg Oates and the members of the INDRUM Network Scientific Committee. We are very grateful to IJMEST Editor-in-Chief, Colin Foster, for initiating such a fruitful and promising cooperation with INDRUM for the diffusion of university mathematics education research. IJMEST will therefore be able to gather both DELTA (series of biennial southern hemisphere symposia on the teaching and learning of undergraduate mathematics and statistics) and INDRUM research papers.
We invite papers of 6,000-9,000 words (15-20 pages), written in English, with the aim of publishing approximately ten papers among the best research represented in the INDRUM2022 Proceedings. Authors of both full papers and poster proposals are welcome to submit a paper – as are the plenary speaker, the panel chair and the panel members. While aiming at reflecting the thematic richness of the INDRUM2022 programme, we will not commit to a strict representation of the conference structure. We particularly welcome proposals that elaborate and expand substantially the investigations presented at INDRUM2022.
