Dr. Georgios Zachariadis was a Professor at the Laboratory of Analytical Chemistry, Department of Chemistry, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He served as Director of the Laboratory of Analytical Chemistry from 2016 to 2019, Director of the Division of Physical, Analytical and Environmental Chemistry from 2016 to 2018, and Director of the Postgraduate Studies Program of the Department of Chemistry from 2014 to 2019.
He supervised seven doctoral dissertations, twenty master’s theses, and approximately forty undergraduate theses. He was the author or co-author of thirteen academic textbooks and published the international book Inductively Coupled Plasma Atomic Emission Spectrometry in 2012.
His scientific work included more than 150 presentations at international and national conferences and over 150 original research articles published in peer-reviewed international scientific journals, covering the fields of Chemical, Bioanalytical, Pharmaceutical, Archaeometric, and Environmental Analysis. By early 2026, his work had received more than 6,000 citations.
Professor Zachariadis participated in more than 35 research projects and collaborated with numerous national and international research institutes and laboratories. He maintained a long-standing scientific collaboration with the Institute of Chemical Technologies and Analytics at TU Wien (Vienna University of Technology), resulting in significant original publications. He also served as a reviewer for approximately 30 international scientific journals and acted as Guest Editor for special issues of the journals Current Analytical Chemistry and Separations.
