A Special Issue in Honour of Adelchi Azzalini

A forthcoming Special Issue of Measurement will look to:

  • celebrate the contributions of Adelchi Azzalini across different areas of statistics;
  • provide overviews of the current state of research in these areas;
  • identify and reflect on the current research agendas in these areas;
  • contribute to further advancement in these areas.

The scope of the Special Issue will cover the following areas, ensuring that computational aspects and applications are also included:

  • skew-normal distributions;
  • machine learning and data mining;
  • models allowing time evolution, including repeated measurements in particular;
  • flexible regression modelling.

Submission Instructions

Manuscript Types Accepted

  • Original Research Articles: Novel theoretical developments, methodological advances, or applied studies.
  • Review Articles: Comprehensive overviews of research areas related to Azzalini’s work.
  • Demonstrations of methods in real-world data contexts with innovative computational techniques.

Formatting Preferences

  • Follow the journal’s standard formatting and style guidelines as detailed on the Measurement submission site.
  • Manuscripts must include a title page with author names, affiliations, and contact information.
  • Abstracts should be concise (150–250 words), clearly stating the purpose, methods, results, and conclusions.
  • Include keywords (4–6) relevant to the Special Issue scope.
  • Figures and tables should be clear and appropriately labelled.
  • References should follow the journal’s citation style.

Submission Process

  • Submit manuscripts online via the Measurement submission system.
  • During submission, authors must select the special issue title: "In Honour of Adelchi Azzalini" to ensure proper handling.
  • Manuscripts will undergo the journal’s standard peer-review process to maintain quality.

Editorial and Review Process

  • All submissions will be subject to rigorous peer review by experts in the field.
