Chronic pain in people living with HIV

On behalf of the Global HIV and Pain Task Force, AIDS Care is issuing a call for manuscripts to be published as part of a special issue on the topic of chronic pain in people living with HIV. This may include etiological factors, pathophysiology, epidemiology, psychosocial aspects, management approaches, or other relevant topics including opioid/substance use at the editors' discretion. We ask that prospective authors first submit a letter of interest (LOI) to publish in this special issue whereby they describe the proposed topic of their manuscript and key findings. We envision that the LOI will essentially be the abstract for the proposed manuscript. A title page with authors and affiliations should also be included.

Submission Instructions

Please refer to the AIDS Care "Instructions for Authors" section below when drafting this abstract/LOI.

The LOI should be submitted to Dr. Burel R. Goodin ([email protected]) no later than May 15, 2020. The editorial team will then select the 10 most meritorious LOIs and invite them for submission as full manuscripts for this special issue in AIDS Care in early June, 2020. It is anticipated that the deadline for full manuscript submission will be approximately October 1, 2020. All LOI and full manuscript submissions need to clearly indicate the "chronic pain in people living with HIV" special issue when submitting.
