The Neonatal Gut Microbiome in Health and Disease

Fundamental discoveries that link gut bacteria to neonatal health instill hope for new therapeutic opportunities to reduce morbidity and mortality among preterm neonates. In this Special Issue we invite articles that investigate:

  • Basic concepts in neonatal microbial community development
  • Dietary influences to neonatal microbiome structure and function
  • Gut microbiota role in neonatal disorders
  • Translating microbiome science to improve neonatal health
