GEOAI, LOCATION ANALYTICS, AND GIS IN THE SYSTEM SCIENCES
Aim and Scope
This special issue of Papers in Applied Geography invites contributions that explore the intersection of GeoAI, Location Analytics, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) within the broader context of System Sciences.
The integration of spatial data, advanced analytics, and computational models has become a critical framework for addressing complex, multi-dimensional challenges across various scientific domains, including:
- Environmental Studies
- Urban Planning
- Transportation Systems
- Disaster Management
- Public Health
- Climate Change Modeling
GeoAI, which merges artificial intelligence with geospatial data, is revolutionizing how spatial phenomena are analyzed, predicted, and understood. Location analytics, powered by sophisticated GIS tools, allows for the extraction of actionable insights from spatial data, improving our understanding of spatial patterns, relationships, and system dynamics.
This special issue aims to showcase original research, case studies, and methodological advancements that push the boundaries of traditional GIS and system science approaches, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration and demonstrating the transformative potential of spatially enabled technologies.
Topics of Interest
We welcome contributions that address, but are not limited to, the following topics:
- GeoAI Techniques in System Sciences: Applications of machine learning, deep learning, and spatial data mining to address challenges in system sciences.
- Location Analytics for Spatial-Temporal Analysis: Examining the role of location intelligence in understanding spatial-temporal relationships.
- GIS Integration with Advanced Analytics: Exploring GIS-based decision support tools in fields such as environmental sciences, public health, and transportation.
- Ethical, Social, and Policy Considerations: Investigating the ethical, social, and policy implications of GeoAI and GIS in system science applications.
- Innovative Applications of GeoAI & GIS: Case studies and real-world applications that showcase cutting-edge innovations in spatial analytics.
Submission Instructions
Manuscript Preparation
