Technological breakthroughs, sustainability pressures, and shifting traveler preferences are rapidly redefining travel and tourism marketing. To stay ahead, travel and tourism players must grasp how these forces will shape the industry, which allows them to predict evolving traveler expectations and leverage new technologies effectively. Identifying early-stage trends can empower travel and tourism players to design data-driven strategies that resonate with travelers and keep pace with ongoing transformations. Such insight also enables practitioners to pivot quickly, build resilience, and seize fresh opportunities in a fast-changing travel and tourism market. Ultimately, the future of travel and tourism marketing will depend on proactive frameworks and forward-looking intelligence, which makes continual innovation essential for maintaining competitiveness. Rather than adopting a passive and “wait-and-see” stance, in this special issue, we urge travel and tourism players to look forward and proactively steer the industry.
This special issue seeks high-quality contributions that explore the future of travel and tourism marketing. Submissions may address, but are not limited to:

- Emerging travel patterns and experiences
Submission Instructions
The manuscript should consist of an introduction, theoretical foundation, methodology, findings, implications, and references.
During the submission process, please state clearly that your submission is intended for publication consideration in the special issue “The Future of Travel and Tourism Marketing: Trends, Transformations, and Opportunities”.
All submitted manuscripts will undergo a blind review process involving at least three reviewers.
Criteria for Acceptance
Submissions should offer innovative perspectives, incorporate robust conceptual or empirical frameworks, and demonstrate clear implications for tourism marketing practice or policy. Studies employing mixed or multi-method research designs are particularly encouraged, as are papers that provide actionable insights for professionals and stakeholders in the tourism industry.
Timeframe
- Complete manuscript of no more than 9,000 words should be submitted by October 15, 2025.
- Authors will receive feedback on their manuscripts by December 15, 2025.
- Revised papers, incorporating the reviewers’ comments, must be submitted by February 15, 2026.
- The special issue will be published in 2026.
