This special issue aims to provide a comprehensive collection of articles that include new insights into traditional paradigms, approaches, and methods, as well as the latest advancements in research methodology concerning the biodiversity, the sustainability and competitiveness of international enterprises. The main aim of this study is to examine the different aspects that influence companies and contribute to their competitiveness, sustainability, and long-term viability. In addition, the increasing impact on national economies in line with the change in traditional business models. Besides, the investigation of new economic, financial, social, ecological, technological, environmental, humanitarian phenomena, along with the reactions of companies in the post-pandemic. Competitiveness and sustainability have proven to be essential in providing companies with direct access to a global market and is vital for the growth of most developing economies, with the potential to promote entrepreneurship and innovation.

In international companies, the key to being competitive and sustainable lies in ethical, social, economic, humanitarian, environmental, technological, and engineering factors. Among the factors that affect the competitiveness of companies are strategic decisions, biodiversity, marketing, finance, technology and innovation, operating costs, sustainability, communication, business ethics, digital transformation, and engineering, among others.

Competitiveness in enterprises involves alternative techniques and perspectives that diverge from neoliberalism. The current concepts of biodiversity and sustainability focuses mainly on social and spatial justice, territorial cohesion, equity and diversity, preservation of cultural and natural heritage, environmental protection, addressing climate change-related issues, protecting geography, and so on. These different circumstances will collectively form the future world. Therefore, achieving competitiveness, sustainability, and long-term viability will necessitate actively participating in the advancement of a more equitable global framework and a more just world. Science aims to discern how economic systems can attain that goal. For the post-pandemic era in business, it is crucial for us to make significant changes to restart activities. To achieve this, we need to focus on sustainability, biodiversity, and competitiveness. This involves implementing strategies and management models that address social, environmental, humanitarian, technological, and engineering issues in the area.

We could not have anticipated a subject that would have such an abrupt and significant influence on both business and society as a whole. The repercussions on the economy, competitiveness, sustainability, biodiversity, technological transformation, environment, and humanities are substantial. Consequently, numerous companies are actively striving to comprehend, respond to, and derive insights from these quickly evolving phenomena. However, considering the significant variations in the level of readiness among organizations, the increased possibility of disruption and the importance of being more prepared for forthcoming crises, it is important to endeavor to understand the knowledge we have gained so far.
