Evaluation and Enhancement of Disaster Immunity in Lifeline Engineering Systems

This special issue aims to synthesize the latest research and practical advances in disaster prevention and mitigation for lifeline engineering worldwide. Its scope covers functional failure mechanisms, resilience assessment methodologies, as well as monitoring and detection theories of lifeline engineering structures and systems. Particular emphasis is placed on the propagation mechanisms of system functional failure under extreme design scenarios. It also analyzes the inherent correlations between engineering structures and systems, and explores the insights derived from immunological theories for urban disaster prevention and mitigation.
