Ethics in Practice

The Ethics in Practice section of the journal aims to be a space for critical reflections on ethical issues in real-life experiences that matter.  The editors of this section seek your contributions of thoughts about your practice. What ethical values do you think are important? What ought to happen? What do you think is right or wrong about things that you see in social work, community work and related areas of the caring professions? Our aim is to stimulate discussion about challenges or concerns you have experienced. Examples from practice and case studies are welcome as well as blog posts, poetry, and other forms of presentation.  Submissions to the practice section could also include but are not limited to:

  • Critical reflection on frontline practice, by carers, service users, students, policy makers or practitioners
  • Reflections on ethical approaches to research and ethical issues in research practice in the area of social welfare
  • Interviews with key stakeholders such as practitioners or policy makers on ethical issues involved in creating change
  • Innovations in the application of ethical theory
  • Public engagement initiatives, activism and ethical issues
  • Reflections on ethics in the practice of teaching in social welfare related disciplines

Ethics in Practice contributions do not have to be fully referenced as academic papers except for any specific evidence or supporting information you refer to, which should be attributed and referenced. These contributions are not peer reviewed, and publications are subject to the editors’ discretion.
