Fintech Theories and Its Applications in Emerging Markets

Financial technology (Fintech) is used to describe new tech that seeks to improve and automate the delivery and use of financial services. Fintech now describes a variety of financial activities, such as money transfers, depositing a check with your smartphone, bypassing a bank branch to apply for credit, raising money for a business startup, or managing your investments, generally without the assistance of a person. New technologies, like machine learning/artificial intelligence, predictive behavioral analytics, and data-driven marketing, will take the guesswork and habit out of financial decisions using Fintech.

Fintech has advanced in not only developed but also emerging markets, making changes visible in every corner of the globe. This special issue is aimed at promoting research broadly related to Fintech Theories and Its Applications in Emerging Markets. All types (empirical and theory) of papers on this theme are welcomed. In this regard, the special issue encourages submissions of topics from the perspective of Fintech for emerging markets. Topics including but not limited to the following areas are specifically welcomed:

  • Asset pricing, and dynamic joint pricing
  • Financial risk management
  • Machine learning/artificial intelligence in finance
  • Big data techniques in finance
