Decolonising Social Work Practice, Education and Research
The past few years has seen decolonisation become a widely used word in the social work vocabulary. Phrases such as ‘decolonising the curriculum’ have become widespread, but what do we really mean by this or claims to be committed to decolonised practice. This Special Issue of the Journal of Social Work Practice focuses on decolonisation and the processes involved in decolonising social work practice, education and research.
We welcome abstracts (200-300 words) that: critically and reflectively address this challenging concept; draw on psychosocial and systemic theoretical frameworks to enhance our understanding of this international phenomenon and highlight how we can strive to overcome oppressive and discriminatory beliefs, behaviours and structures in all aspects of social work across the globe.
