Data Science in Environmental and Climate Sciences

Dear Colleagues,

This Special Issue of Data Science in Science invites original manuscripts that bring together novel data science methods for, and applications in, the analysis of environmental and climate data. We evaluate submissions on the basis of scientific rigor, technical depth, and ethical standards, regardless of perceived novelty. Submissions with interesting and relevant research questions in environmental and climate sciences supported by statistical advances as well as novel methodologies with environmental applications are both valued. We welcome interdisciplinary collaborations.

We welcome original, unpublished, and innovative submissions including, but not limited to the following areas of research:

  • Trends in Environmental and Climatological Data
  • Statistical Modelling in a (Climate) Changing World
  • Economic Drivers and Impacts of Climate Change
  • Patterns in and Prediction of Weather and Ocean Variables
  • Modelling and Prediction of Spatiotemporal Relations

Sincerely yours,

Marina Friedrich (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam), Emmanuel Mahieu (Université de Liège), Stephan Smeekes (Maastricht University), Jakob Raymaekers (Maastricht University), Ines Wilms (Maastricht University), David S. Matteson (Cornell University)
