Control and Intelligent Optimization Methodologies for Networked Systems

Cyber-physical systems (CPS) have achieved a high degree of integration between physical processes and the cyber system, in which the behaviors of the physical processes are monitored or controlled by the cyber system such that the physical processes can work reliably and efficiently. Many networks and networked systems can be recognized as CPS, such as smart grid, multi-agent systems, sustainable energy systems, networked Euler-Lagrange systems, multiple autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs), and other networked systems. The interacting dynamics among integrated components result in significant theoretical and practical challenges.

The objective of this special issue is to synergize original research works contributing to the literature in advanced control and intelligent optimization for CPS. We are looking for original, high-quality, innovative research and developments from a wide variety of research areas related to CPS, such as all-in-one modeling methodology of CPS, intelligent control and optimization in CPS, as well as security and sensing.

The topics of interest in this special issue include, but are not limited to:

  • Intelligent/ Distributed optimization of CPSs
  • Cloud-supported control methods for networked systems

  • Synchronization control of complex dynamical systems
  • Distributed state estimation of networked systems with cyber attacks
  • Integrated energy system planning and optimization
  • Energy storage in power system
