Communication and Prejudice
In almost every society in the world today, prejudice is pervasive and remains a social concern. Members of different minority and marginalized groups are excluded and treated negatively because of their race, gender, sexual orientation, social class, immigrant status, ethnicity, religion, age, appearance, and nationality, just to name a few. For decades, researchers in communication have been exploring the different facets/causes of and solutions for prejudice. The purpose of this special issue to add to our understanding of the communicative aspects of prejudice. The editor and reviewers are particularly interested in:
- Theoretical analyses of prejudice and communication
- Rhetorical analyses
- Analyses of media depictions of prejudice
- Meta-analyses
- New methodological approaches to studying communication and prejudice
- Discussion of what is communication and prejudice
- Open analyses of the links between communication and prejudice
- All methodological approaches are welcome
