Environmental Technology

The need for environmental monitoring is still increasing due to the growing awareness of the impact of human activities on the environment. Even though new technologies have allowed for more accurate and efficient data collection and analysis, there is much room for improvement in environmental monitoring and modeling. In this special issue, we call for papers reporting Challenges and Advances in Environmental Monitoring and Modelling. We look for contributions beyond earlier approaches and fill critical knowledge gaps in this topic.

The following key topics and questions will be central to papers in the Special Issue:

• New data and methods of environmental remote sensing (satellites and drones);
• Advances in sensor technology and low-cost devices;
• Collaborative monitoring using small and low-cost methods;
• Environmental modeling in data-scarce areas;
• Environmental monitoring challenges in data-scarce areas
• Environmental database developments (air, water, soil, ocean, land use)
• Optimization of monitoring networks
• Quality assurance procedures
• Operational cost of new monitoring systems
• Model evaluation and optimization

When submitting, please select Special Issue paper as ‘Manuscript type’, and upon the question ‘Is your paper candidate for a Special Issue’ please click Yes and select Challenges and Advances in Environmental Monitoring and Modelling in the drop-down list.

All types of manuscripts are welcome to be submitted to this special issue, including original research articles, review articles, and methodology articles.
