River temperature: Perspectives, Applications, and Future Directions for Research in Canada

River temperature has gained considerable national and international interest from researchers and practitioners. Human drivers and pressures including impoundments, landscape disturbance, and climate change impact river temperature, and this has direct and indirect effects on aquatic ecosystems

This Special Issue will provide a state-of-the-art summary of recent research on river temperature related to Canada.

We welcome articles related to the following research themes:

  • Review of recent research
  • Temperature monitoring and network design
  • Characterisation of thermal regimes
  • Modelling and forecasting
  • Effects of river temperature variability on aquatic ecosystems
  • River temperature and climate change
