Canadian Journal of Remote Sensing – Special Symposium Issue Announcement
For the French version of this special issue call for papers, please visit this page.
A special issue of the Canadian Journal of Remote Sensing (CJRS) will be compiled from peer-reviewed research or technical papers presented at this year’s virtual 41st Canadian Symposium on Remote Sensing. Papers on any topic will be considered but we are encouraging submissions related the theme of the conference: “Landscapes of Change; Remote Sensing for a Sustainable Future” and associated special sessions in the program. The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic significantly altered our plan to host this year’s symposium in Yellowknife, but we welcome submissions addressing northern environmental change detection, monitoring and surveillance using any unmanned, airborne or space-based sensors and platforms. Further, based on the modifications to the conference program following our pivot to online delivery and in keeping with the “Sustainable Future” theme, we encourage submissions related to Canada’s space-based Earth observation policy. And finally, in recognition that COVID-19 has accelerated our transition to a more online business landscape, we are seeking input for an editorial article on how Canadian Remote Sensing practitioners, employers, employees, educators, as well as those entering the work force need to prepare for ongoing and future changes in our working environment.
