Collection on the 10th International Conference on Agro-Geoinformatics (ICAG) and 43rd Canadian Symposium on Remote Sensing (CSRS)

The joint 10th International Conference on Agro-Geoinformatics (ICAG) and 43rd Canadian Symposium on Remote Sensing (CSRS) was held at the Quebec City Convention Centre from July 11th to 14th 2022. Delegates were also able to participate virtually. A total of 326 delegates from 23 countries attended, including 213 at the Quebec Convention Centre and 113 virtually. The theme of this joint conference was “Remote Sensing and Geomatics for Sustainable Agriculture and Environment˝ and was underlined by the guest speakers. As one highlight, this hybrid conference provided an opportunity to stimulate open and inclusive dialogue about geomatics and remote sensing tools for agriculture and environmental applications. There were 110 presentations related to this particular topic, including 28 oral presentations, 16 interactive posters and 66 pre-recorded videos.  Further, this international conference provided updates on research in the era of artificial intelligence, big data analytics, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV), Lidar, Earth Observation satellites, and open-source and cloud computing as well as applications in areas such as forestry, fire monitoring, land cover and land use, snow and ice, hazards and urban studies. In particular, there were two invited sessions on the monitoring of the Forest Ecosystem and two invited sessions about the Earth Observation Activities at the Canadian Space Agency, with topics ranging from RADARSAT-1 to the RADARSAT Constellation Mission to grant programs and the EO Continuity initiative.

The Canadian Journal of Remote Sensing aims at publishing a special collection about all the topics presented at the ICAG-CSRS 2022 conference. All the presenters of oral communications, interactive posters or  pre-recorded videos are encouraged to submit an original manuscript.

Submission Instructions

All manuscripts will be subjected to peer review and a standard Article Publication Charge (APC). Research Papers, Review Papers as well as Research Notes, are all welcome and invited.  Articles can be written in English or in French. All papers are published with the title and abstract in both languages.

Please note that the Canadian Journal of Remote Sensing will convert to a full Open Access journal starting  January 2023 (Volume 49). Open Access (OA) means you can publish your research so it is free to access online as soon as it is published, meaning anyone can read and cite your work. The standard article publishing charge (APC) for this journal is US$2,010 / £1,545 / €1,780 plus VAT or other local taxes where applicable in a given country. Members of the Canadian Aeronautics and Space Institute (CASI) and the Canadian Remote Sensing Society (CRSS-SCT) are eligible to a discount of 30% on the standard APC. Please provide the member discount code when generating your quote through the new Taylor & Francis submission portal for the Canadian Journal of Remote Sensing. Prospective authors must follow the regular guidelines of the CJRS-JCT available on the Taylor & Francis website at:
