Blockchain based Security and Trust Management for Smart Devices in Cloud-Fog Environment

Blockchain is a decentralized technology that provides an immutable ledger for strong transactions. It is originally developed for digital currency but can be applied to other sectors due to its decentralized architecture. Blockchain provides security, trust, and privacy to smart devices in an untrusted environment like the cloud-fog computing environment. Cloud computing provides the services on rent so that the user can use the required service through a common shared platform. But as the number of digital devices increases latency and throughput limit the use of cloud computing services, then fog computing is introduced, which provides cloud-like services near the device. But both cloud and fog computing platforms handle the user's personal and private data, and blockchain is used to provide trust, immutability, and security to the cloud-fog environment.

This special issue aims at providing a platform for researchers and practitioners to exchange and publish the latest research trends and results, and so in the area related to advancements of blockchain paradigms and their applications in Cloud-Fog computing. The main objective of this issue is to encourage researchers to explore key concepts of blockchain algorithms that can be utilized in the efficient integration of cloud and fog environments.
