Antiracism

Thematic Issue - Antiracism

Aims and Focus

The main aim of the Themed Issue is to revisit how social researchers have researched and analysed antiracism. This Themed Issue focuses on accounts of antiracism, how antiracist movements and ideas have evolved, the way it is understood in different societies and its impact on policy and political agendas. The issue has the broader aim of offering an up-to-date range of papers that reflect current research agendas on antiracism in sociology, anthropology, social policy, and related areas.

We would particularly welcome papers on

  • theoretical reflection on the evolution of antiracism as a set of ideas and values in relation to its broad conceptual frame and objectives;
  • methodological innovations in investigating contemporary forms of antiracism;
  • case studies of specific antiracist mobilisations and movements;
  • the results of empirical explorations focused on antiracism in various countries or through comparative research.

Submissions are welcomed from scholars based in various parts of the world and at all stages of career. Authors will find it helpful to look at recent volumes of the journal to become familiar with the range of papers published in the Journal.
