Claudia Jones: Internationalist, Activist, and Theorist
The editor-in-chief of the American Communist History journal invites authors to submit abstracts for possible inclusion in a special edition titled “Claudia Jones: Internationalist, Activist, and Theorist.” The journal welcomes articles, dialogues, notes, and further comments thereon on Claudia Jones.
Claudia Jones has been recognized as an important thinker and activist in the American Communist Party (CPUSA) and she has become the subject of multiple books and articles. This edition will explore her influence, her ideas, and her global reach, with special focus on areas of Jones’s activism that have gone less explored including her relationship with activists in the diaspora and third world liberation movements, her influence on communists and other activists, her conception of socialism, and her relevance today.

Abstracts should be 250 words in length and include a statement on how the article will add to the literature on Claudia Jones. Please send the abstracts to Denise Lynn [email protected]. Essays will be between 5000-6000 words and follow the journal's format requirements.
