Aesthetic, athletic, artistry; Applications of biomechanics in dance

- Biomechanics related injury risk factors and aetiologies in dance

- Understanding/observing dance using biomechanical methods for performance enhancement

- Biomechanical approaches to critically evaluating or judging dance performance

- Applications of biomechanical methods in the pursuit of understanding dance as an elite movement discipline

- Technology and innovation as it has developed to inform dance training and/or facilitate new enquiry into dance biomechanical studies

- Demonstrate the diversity of dance forms that exist internationally and have been assessed through biomechanical methods

- Considerations of applying biomechanical methods to dance as an aesthetic movement discipline

- Positioning dance biomechanics as a unique comparative study that may serve to initiate interdisciplinary biomechanical studies across athletic, robotic and other relevant disciplines.

Submission Instructions

- Select "special issue – Aesthetic, athletic, artistry; Applications of biomechanics in dance” when submitting your paper.

- These article types will be considered: Review, Original Research, Methods and Theoretical Perspectives.

- Word limit: 5000 for reviews and 3500 for others.

- Table and figure limit: 5 for reviews and 3 for others.

- Expected publication dates: TBC.

- Authors are encouraged to contact the editors to enquire about the topic of the potential submission before preparation.
