9th International Conference of Engineering Against Failure (short title: ICEAF IX)

This Special Issue will include papers that will be presented during the 9th International Conference of Engineering Against Failure (ICEAF IX), which will be held from 13-16 June 2027, in the vibrant city of Chania, on the beautiful island of Crete, Greece. The Organizing Committee of the Conference is inviting contributions addressing, but not limited to the listed topics:

  • Innovative methods for failure analysis and prevention in engineering systems.
  • Damage detection, evolution, and characterization in structural component manufacturing processes as well as in component’s service conditions.
  • New experimental, numerical, and theoretical approaches in fracture mechanics and fatigue analysis.
  • Interdisciplinary research combining AI, digital twins, or simulation tools for failure analysis and prevention.
