A New Way to Join the Conversation

with The Social Science Journal

The Social Science Journal is using a new online submission and peer review system, called Editorial Manager.  All papers currently in review on the EES site will be migrated to the new Editorial Manager site. All new papers and revisions should be submitted to The Social Science Journal's Editorial Manager.

Below we have provided answers to some frequently asked questions for authors and reviewers, and information about who to contact if you have a query.

We thank you for your patience while we move to Editorial Manager.

Accessing your account

I had an account on the EES site for The Social Science Journal. Do I need to set up a new account on the Editorial Manager site?

No. If you have previously submitted an article to The Social Science Journal or reviewed a paper for The Social Science Journal, you will have received an email with your new log on details. If you cannot find the email, visit the site, enter your email address and clicking on “Reset Password” to receive the log on details again.

For authors

I am currently working on a revision of my paper. Where should I submit the revision?

Please submit your revision as a new submission to the new website for The Social Science Journal. Please indicate that you have previously submitted your paper to The Social Science Journal and provide your manuscript ID number from the Editorial Manager site if possible. This will help us to locate the previous reviews and versions of your paper more quickly.

My paper is currently being reviewed. Do I need to do anything?

No. Your paper will continue to be reviewed on the Editorial Manager site, and you will be informed of the Editor’s decision in due course. If you are asked to revise your paper, you will be asked to submit the revision to the new site.

Does this mean that the decision on my paper will be delayed?

No, the move to Editorial Manager will not cause delays to papers in either EES or Editorial Manager.

I am working on a new submission. Where should I submit it?

Please submit your paper to the new site for The Social Science Journal. If you have previously submitted articles to The Social Science Journal or reviewed papers for The Social Science Journal, you will already have a new account set up on Editorial Manager. See above for information about accessing your account. If you have never submitted a paper or reviewed a paper for The Social Science Journal on the EES site, you will need to set up a new account.

I am writing a review for The Social Science Journal. Where should I submit it?

Please follow the links in the invitation-to-review email you originally received. If your request came from the EES site, you will be redirected to the Editorial Manager site. If your request came from the Editorial Manager site, please submit your review there.
