Call for Associate Editor

Application Deadline: January 20, 2020

The International Journal of Social Psychology is looking to recruit English-speaking Associate Editors to join the existing Editorial Team.

About the Journal

The International Journal of Social Psychology publishes original works of empirical research, and exceptionally theoretical reviews, from all fields of Social Psychology.

The journal has been the flagship of Spanish social psychology for the last 30 years under the title Revista de Psicología Social.

Today, as a fully bilingual journal (English and Spanish) published in partnership with Taylor & Francis, the journal has a global reach, in terms of both the works submitted and its readership. Authors may submit their work in Spanish or English and, if accepted, manuscripts are then translated.

Role Description

Associate Editors will be overseeing the review process of 8-10 submissions per year. This process includes:

  • Preliminary assessment of manuscripts
  • Identifying and recruiting appropriate referees
  • Overseeing and coordinating the review process
  • Liaising with authors for revisions
  • Making editorial decisions about papers (in coordination with the Editorial Team)

Applicants should have a background of academic publication in the field of Social Psychology, excellent writing and editing skills, good management skills, and ideally have some previous editorial experience.

A native speaker level in English language is expected, as the Associate Editors selected will handle papers submitted to the journal in English. Thus, applicants are not required to speak Spanish. Associate Editors will be appointed for a period of three years, starting on January 2020.

Application Procedure

Interested candidates are requested to submit their CV and a cover letter outlining their interest to the following address: [email protected]

All applications will be treated as confidential, and applicants will be judged on background, skill and experience.

Applications should be submitted by January 20, 2020.
