The Journal of Social Psychology
The Journal of Social Psychology publishes original empirical research in all areas of basic and applied social psychology.
Executive Editor Jon E. Grahe explains the importance of open research to the journal:
"As soon as the scientific revolution to increase research transparency emerged, The Journal of Social Psychology responded. We were one of the first 4 journals to begin awarding Open Science Badges. We became signatories to the Transparency and Openness Promotion Guidelines to both show our support and conduct an internal assessment. Since then we began requiring Research Materials Transparency starting in 2018, and will begin required Data Transparency in 2021. While the transitions have been time consuming for authors, reviewers, and editors alike, the process has improved the papers we publish by making the research more accessible and reproducible. We hope to continue leading our peers in making our field more transparent in the years to come".
Journal of Cognitive Psychology
Accepts Registered Reports
The journal publishes contributions from all areas of cognitive psychology, focusing on sound and theory-driven studies that advance our understanding of cognitive mechanisms and processes.
Editor- in-Chief Linden J. Ball describes the journal's policies on open science:
"Journal of Cognitive Psychology is committed to the many benefits that open science and data sharing can bring to scientific advancement, with empirical results being available for validation, reproduction and replication. In 2017 the journal became a signatory to The Transparency and Openness Promotion (TOP) Guidelines of the Center for Open Science and promoted data availability during peer review and after paper acceptance. In 2020 the journal embraced Taylor & Francis’ Open Data Policy, ensuring that data are freely available, findable and accessible. In a step toward increased research transparency the journal now also welcomes the submission of registered reports."
