Since 1987, The Chinese Historical Review has sought to publish original research on the history of China across time periods, and China's historical relations with the world. Chinese Historians in the United States works alongside the American Historical Association and the Association for Asian Studies to promote scholarly exchange on Chinese history research among colleagues in both China and the US. Routledge is pleased to publish The Chinese Historical Review in tandem with CHUS to contribute to the advancement of Chinese Historical Studies and Asian Studies.
Indexed in ESCI, Web of Science, Bibliography of Asian Studies, and Scopus, the journal seeks to make research on Chinese history widely accessible to the English-speaking world, and is not niche in scope like its competitors. Its Forum section features interviews with leading scholars on issues concerning history and the historical profession.
