Central to the goal of the “Voices from Asian Feminist Activism” is providing a platform for individual and collective narratives of local activism, feminist movements, and women’s organizing in Asia and beyond. In this special section, various stories of grassroot empowerment and feminist movements provide a backdrop for building theories, conceptions, frameworks, and instruments in exploring feminist mobilization, women’s engagement and emancipation, transnational feminism, and online activism, among others.

About the Journal
AJWS aims to share and disseminate information and scholarly ideas about women’s issues in Asia and all over the world, with the view to develop women’s studies in Asia and expand the horizon of western-centred women’s studies. The journal offers research articles with a theoretical focus, voices from Asian feminist activism, country reports providing valuable information on specific subjects, and book reviews containing information on recent publications on women in Asia and elsewhere.
