Propose a special collection of thematically linked articles

Special Collections proposals can be submitted to the PRX Editors at any time. For further questions, please contact the Editors:

Simona Guerra, [email protected]

Alexandra Segerberg, [email protected]

PRX welcomes proposals for collections of thematically linked articles.

These permanent collections are similar to ‘special issues’ in traditional print issue based journals, with the difference that:

(i) each article will be published in the regular volume of the journal in final format as soon as it is ready. As soon as 6 articles have been published they can also be grouped together in a special section of the journal homepage as a ‘collection’. Further articles can be added to the collection over time. As many as 30 articles may be included in a single collection provided they are published within a timeframe agreed with the PRX Editors.

(ii) each collection has its own introduction and, if relevant, introductory video from the guest editors.

The same PRX APC charges apply as for regular submissions (see the Instructions for Authors). In order to propose a collection, please submit either:

(1) A full proposal or (2) A ‘call for papers’ proposal
All proposals must include
• a provisional title
• names and affiliations of the guest editors
• a description of the aims and scope of the collection, including its relation to existing published work.
• a timetable, including any workshop or conference panels, and/or link to a research project, submission deadlines, and targeted publication date.

Full proposal applications must also include names and affiliations of each proposed contributor and a 600-word outline of each paper, together with an indication of their commitment to contribute.

‘Call for papers’ proposals must include a short draft call, a detailed strategy for publicizing the call.
In order to propose a collection, or if you have any questions about the process. please contact the editors.
