The 2020 NPT Review Conference

Journal for Peace and Nuclear Disarmament Special Issue Call for Papers

Deadline: 30 April 2020

The Journal for Peace and Nuclear Disarmament (J-PAND) wishes to call for papers for a Special Feature.

The 2020 NPT Review Conference

The next review conference of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) will be held in May 2020. The recent international atmosphere surrounding nuclear issues makes it highly unlikely that the state parties will easily be able to reach an outcome document by consensus in the conference. But, irrespective of whether the conference will end in a success or failure, the politics of the NPT review conference is worth analyzing. The J-PAND editors wish to call for papers related to topics and questions that may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • How will the NPT review conference be affected by other recent developments in nuclear issues?
  • How can we evaluate the outcome of the conference? What are the factors behind the particular outcome?
  • Will the NPT be sustainable?

The Special Feature is expected to be published in October 2020.
